It is a $349 (retail) accessory to a $699-$900 (wholesale) multipurpose device that just happens to also make phone calls. It is a wee bit out of my price range.

I'm quite happy with my Pebble. Also, I can use the SDK and fork/patch FOSS watchapps/watchfaces and make them behave the way I want.

The only minor inconvenience is that the Pebble app is only available on the app store. But their tech support doesn't mind sending you an APK by email when you ask.

Please do ask. Hopefully, with time, people will realise that Google Play is not a ubiquitous way of distributing apps (though practical). HTTP is.
