Yeah, I had the same problem. Seems to work now. Although i messed up my Firefox, due to misconfiguration it now believes it should permanently try :8000 when I type in the address... :-P
I don't know what I did wrong, but now it has stopped responding to any clicks :-(

I have to figure out how to set up pump.io. I started with the readme.md - But I have no idea how to set up mongodb to work with pump. Any tips?Show all 5 replies
It's quite easy actually. First you'll need to be sure databank-mongodb is installed (see README.md). If you haven't already, install mongodb. I don't think that you have to do anything else for mongodb aside from making sure that it's running. You'll need to add/change the /etc/pump.io.json like this: http://bin.jpope.org/wocoyuxecu changing the host/port/dbname as needed.jpope on jpump at 2013-05-22T18:39:35Z

I also think @jpope had a blogpost about setting everything up that I found very helpful (much moreso than the readme)
Great, thanks for the help, guys! I think all that is left to do now is fetching some SSL cert and setting up nginx as proxy (I need this because it also proxies the http bridge to my Gopher server on gopher://grindcore.ch) -

it works. Please set the following definition in your .htconfig.php if you enabled the mirroring: $a->config['pumpio']['application_name'] = "social.puremath.ch"; It's some kind of precaution to prevent posting loops.
What exactly does the mirroring do? (I didn't enable it yet, since I didn't understand what it does... :)

A phone produced under fair conditions sounds like a good idea. But it looks to me like it's one of these things that remain a good idea but will never be picked up by the operators.

Looks like I'll have to switch my VPS provider. I thought I could use my more or less idle VPS to share Debian ISOs and the like. But it turns out that #Hetzner disallows torrents (altogether, not only illegal filesharing..)

Just ssh in. Just don't fiddle too hard and lock yourself out. :-)
Ah, now I see what you mean. You can't watch it boot from BIOS and run any arbitrary installer. But I'm sure if you talk to them and set up your own kvm image, they will happily help you get it in there.
Exactly, and I want a console that doesn't depend on ssh in case I lock myself out (which I do regularly because I like playing with stuff I don't understand ;) ) But I just read on twitter that they will offer the BSDs in the future. And since my Hetzner VPS is only payed to the end of may I just decided to switch. So I'm a proud moln.is customer now :D
Cool! Do keep us posted how that goes, if their team are good to work with etc. -
