Weird. These past few days, I have been unable to follow anyone who’s on the same server as me. The "follow" button just doesn’t do anything. (It works on other remote servers, though.)
That is interesting. OK, I'll take a look.

Is it me or is everybody here either on jpope’s server or on microca.st like me? I’m quite surprised (and disappointingly so) not to see more people with a pumpyourself or pumpitypumpump handle (or whatever those go :-)

I'm on microcast at the moment. But I really plan to set up my own instance. But I'm too busy the next few weeks.
I'm planning to continue to use identi.ca once that is migrated. This is just a test account. Until I get around to setting up a personal instance...
I'm on 1realtime.net, waiting for the time I can find to fix my instance at home.
I cycled the tryit page until I saw something I liked. microca.st is an awesome name. If things calm down a bit I will probably set up my own instance. If things really calm down I would like to explore Vert.X by implementing a pump clone. -

As far as I can’t tell, comments on pump.io are not meant to be "liked" or "shared" per se. The only option is to "like" or "re-share" the original post (even if the most interesting comment is buried down the thread). Or, of course, one can make a new post with a link towards interesting comment (which unfortunately cannot be accessed from Ctrl-click or right-click, btw) -- still, feels like a step backwards from what I’d grown used to.

Why doesn’t Ctrl-Click (open in a new tab) work on pump.io web interface? I’ve tested it with both gecko and webkit/blink.

Some of the links aren't really links; they're buttons that do an AJAX call and render a new template in the client.
Okay... but what are you supposed to do with these? When someone posts a link such as http://example.iana.org/ in a message, I’d expect that clicking on it would open the page, and Ctrl-clicking would open it in a new tab. (As of now, the first part is accurate, but the second doesn’t happen.) -

After diaspora*, tumblr, Instagram and the likes, pump.io is yet another of these so-called "social networking" communities that make me feel disabled because I don’t own a camera or a mobile phone (nor am I at all interested in pictures in general). #ILiveForPlainText

Pump.io’s policy when it comes to cookies, is very different from statusNet/identi.ca. Here I have to retype my password every time I restart my browser.

@evan: what if one has localStorage disabled? Why is it better than cookies?
Then things get forgotten between sessions. Actually, I think if you close the page you lose your local variables.
Do you really have localStorage disabled?
I believe I have "ask me first" on localStorage and microca.st is not in the blacklist nor the whitelist. But I don't get any question. Maybe one of Ghostery or NoScript is interfering with this. -
